That's right, this Thursday, we need everybody to scrape by without spending one single penny all day. This is a huge movement around the US to strike a huge blow to corporate America on the day of Bush's inauguration.
Do whatever you might the day before to prepare, but please don't spend a dime on January 20th. Imagine if the worst day for the American economy in decades happened on the same day that Bush spends $40 million to throw himself an inauguration party. It could send a huge message and grab headlines around the entire world. Band together to send the strongest message possible, the message of the almighty dollar!

If ya need something, buy it in advance. NOT ONE DAMN DIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's been flying around for years. A nice Snopes article tells very nicely why that's one of the stupidest and laziest things to ever be proposed.

The sad fact is that unless people are directly threatened, this is the extent of their willingness to involve themselves, and even this isn't going to happen. Maybe 10% of the readers would care, and 50% of that 10 (if they're really on the ball) would remember and control themselves for that day. We just don't care. If we get our cash, our car, our burger, and our blowjob, then obviously nothing's wrong, right? We've become that complacent in our lives and really don't want that to change, no matter what we say. If a candidate gets on the platform that says he'll make major changes to ANYTHING, he goes nowhere. People like Bush because he's the status quo. Sure, many of his decisions could hurt science or the environment years down the road (Like the democrats could do any better), but nobody can really 'PROVE' that to the point that it defeats the PR machines, and nobody is capable of thinking further ahead than four years IF they're looking forward to re-election. The rest of us just want more of the same, and only will fight for that at the very last minute, when it's usually far too late.

This... this is just sad. Most email is simply dumb, this is just sad.

I don't like Bush at all, and I happen to be a hardcore Liberal. However, I think that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

BTW, I DO plan to move to Canada, in a few years once I can afford it. So there. :P You know you'll miss me. *bats eyes*
